Nightcapers is run by Curtis Caudill, doing business as Nightcapers, Greensboro, North Carolina. This page says what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted. Questions go to hello@nightcapers.com.

What we collect

From a host:

• Your email address, which is how you sign in.
• What you tell us about the party: the date, the time, the address if you give one, the theme, the tone, the tier, and your no-go list.
• What you tell us about your guests: their names, their email addresses, and anything you choose to write about them.
• Whether you turned filming on, and any chip-in you set.
• Any video you upload.

From a guest:

• Your RSVP.
• Your ballot, if you vote from your phone.
• Whether you agreed to the photo and video note, and whether you asked to be emailed the results.

From everyone who visits:

• Which pages were opened and which buttons were pressed, so we can tell which pages are doing their job.

Payment is handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.

Why

To write and deliver your kit. To send the invitations you ask us to send. To run each guest’s private page and the results page. To make the product better.

We do not sell data. We do not use it for advertising.

If you are a guest

You did not sign up with us. Your host entered your name and your email address so that you could be invited.

What you receive from us: an invitation, a link to a private page with your character on it, and the results after the party if you asked for them. Nothing else.

You can ask us to delete what we hold about you at any time. Write to hello@nightcapers.com. Your host will be told that your seat is empty, and not why.

Real names in the story

The characters are fiction. A character may carry a guest’s first name. We do not use any other personal data to write characters.

Nothing is written about a real person’s health, family, money, sexuality, religion, immigration status, or past relationships.

How long we keep it

We keep your kit and your guests’ details until you ask us to delete them, and we delete them when you ask. Write to hello@nightcapers.com.

We will make reasonable efforts to remove footage from services we control after a valid request.

Who else handles it

We use other companies to run the service, and they handle data on our behalf:

• A hosting provider, where the app and its database run.
• An email provider, which sends invitations, character links and receipts.
• A payment processor, which takes the payment.
• An analytics provider.
• A language model provider, which writes the text of the kit.

The language model

The text of a kit is written with a third-party language model. Your answers to the nine questions are sent to it under that provider’s terms.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. Write to hello@nightcapers.com. We answer within 30 days.

Children

Nightcapers is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this page

If this page changes in a way that matters, we say so at the top of it and email the hosts with an account.
